Explore Charleston’s notorious Old City Jail. On this tour, you may hear stories of Levina and John Fisher, convicted of highway robbery and hung despite their insistence of innocence. You may meet meet Denmark Vesey, who successfully planned a slave revolt and hear about Jaque Alexander Tardy, a pirate who framed John Gibson, and was hanged despite his innocence. This tour will give you an overview in understanding the architectural history of the Old Jail and the surrounding buildings, all developed as public space in Charleston's original plan.

This was a really enjoyable experience. Our guide was very informative and didn’t oversell anything.
I've been a haunted house / horror film fan my whole life and when I spotted the Haunted Jail tour I knew I had to go. My whole family loved it - the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history - and it really was one of the spookiest places I've ever visited.
Great tour ton of history there
We thought it was too gruesome and graphic for kids. We had an eight year old with us and decided to leave before entering the morge area Wish the description of the tour was more accurate.
It was so scary and fun and interesting! I kinda wanna go again!
It was a wonderful experience
Tour guide was very informative
My wife & I have been on a few ghost tours. We enjoy the tours primarily for the history lesson we get. We enjoyed the tour with our adult children, but $100 for 45 minutes is a bit steep.
