November 16, 2017 -

We all loved the WWII Museum!! I wish we had more time to spend there. One of the best parts was when we walked in they had a table set up where you could meet a veteran of the War. It was an honor to meet someone who was part of it.

November 14, 2017 -

What an interesting museum. We had planned to have lunch at commanders Palace but changed the reservation to dinner so we can spend more time in the museum. Be sure to get the ticket to the Tom Hanks movie overview before you start the tour, if possible. Fabulous displays an audio guides.

October 28, 2017 -

A must see in New Orleans. Make sure you get tickets to any event showing. We didn't get tickets to the submarine prior to our visit to the museum and they were sold out. That part was disappointing but the museum itself was wonderful.

What a great museum. It was very moving. I enjoyed the big picture exhibits, and the personal story following one soldier through the war. I wish I had more time to spend there.

"Decent museum, but not much..."

October 5, 2017 -

Decent museum, but not much wow factor. The Smithsonian and various military branch museums Army, Airborne, Naval Aviation, USAF, Marine Corps were all better experiences, in my opinion.

This is a must see for anyone going to New Orleans ,well worth the price alot yourself plenty of time don't rush thru

"I loved the immersiveness of..."

September 29, 2017 -

I loved the immersiveness of the scenes at the Battle of the Bulge, Guadalcanal. You were walking in an actual unit encampment. The collection of weapons and equipment from both sides was also impressive. They have added a STEM wing to help modern kids connect. The size of 4 normal museums, plan at least half a day.

"Incredibly informational. Really puts that..."

September 25, 2017 -

Incredibly informational. Really puts that time in history into perspective and certainly reminds you why it was called World War II. I would definitely recommend planning on a full day to really take it all in.

"finest museum experience you can..."

September 24, 2017 -

finest museum experience you can have. rivals smithsonion sp. take the time 1/2 day at least and learn so hopefully history is not repeated. we really made many mistakes and were very fortunate the war came out as it did. would do it again.

"We have visited several museums..."

August 18, 2017 -

We have visited several museums but, this particular one was on my bucket list. My husband and I are really big WWII buffs. This destination did not disappoint. We visited on Memorial Day and there was a special ceremony. We did meet the oldest survivor from Pearl Harbor and that was epic. Also, if I were to go back, I would have done a 2 day pass as we did not get to see everything. On a side note, we did have trouble with Viator.com website and incorrect wording on the theater ticket being included with out purchase through Viator. I contacted Viator and they made it right with us so I commend them for doing so. I honestly feel this museum was FANTASTIC!

"The museum is an amazing..."

August 16, 2017 -

The museum is an amazing place. I learned so much. Like everyone said, it abldoes take a full day to see it all. I wish I had known that we could have gotten a 2nd day for just 6. It would have been really nice to have the additional time and ability to rest, when needed, and be able to see it all.

May 6, 2017 -

June 15, 2016 -

My husband, son in law and grandson went on this trip. They loved it. Getting their tickets at Will Call prevented a long line to purchase tickets. The Tom Hanks movie was great. It is a must see they said. The Boeing Airplane building addition is great per my husband. You have added that and the movie since he was here last. You have done a wonderful job with this museum. Thank you for the experience.

"Get involved personally with a..."

June 9, 2016 -

Get involved personally with a soldier as they go through the war! The oral histories set this museum experience apart from any other museum you'll go to! I am not a war person, but being able to get a feeling for the PEOPLE who had to fight, brings the tragic cost of wars down to a personal level.

"My husband and I toured..."

March 25, 2015 -

My husband and I toured The National WWII Museum on February 28, 2015. The museum was fairly crowded that morning around 11:00 when we arrived. I felt flow was a little rushed, especially since the early movie times were strongly encouraged. We interrupted our tour to go view the Tom Hanks narrative. It was very entertaining. Next, we moved toward the submarine experience. I have to say that this was my favorite part of the museum! The experience is a must for anyone, especially if you have kids. Afterwards, we went back to the museum to conclude our tour.

"Awesome displays but was very..."

"We were staying at a..."

June 28, 2014 -

We were staying at a hotel on Canal St. and found that the museum was close enough to walk, about 3/4 mile, so very centrally located. We thought the museum was very informative and respectful. All exhibits are a "must see". The movie presentation narrated by Tom Hanks takes your breath away. Gift shops were reasonably priced. Sorry that we ate breakfast, so did not get to eat in the soda shop. Note that there are two new pavillions opening soon, Fall 2014 and early 2015. Hope to get back to see those. My father served in the North Atlantic and I wish that he was still alive to visit this museum. It is a great tribute and addition to New Orleans.

"This museum is not to..."

June 16, 2014 -

This museum is not to be missed. The highlight is a 4D film by Tom Hanks depicting battles from WWII. Your seat is wired to vibrate so you feel as if you are in the action. The exhibits are also first class.

"This tour was very intense..."

April 2, 2014 -

This tour was very intense and emotional. The exhibits were informative. I think the men an women who served at very stressful time and we should all study this history so that the same thing will never happen again.

"The exhibit was wonderful and..."

January 18, 2014 -

The exhibit was wonderful and the all inclusive ticket provided (finally) was well worth it. However, the rude staff together with the long lines and poor info almost made us leave BEFORE we got in! We book this tour from our hotel and actually had to call VIATOR to complete the booking as there were some computer issues. I specifically asked my VIATOR rep if I needed to print the ticket and he said no-- as long as the code was on my smart phone we would gain admittance. NOT! The staff at the museum insisted on a hard copy and when I asked THEM to print it out or to look it up on the VIATOR website, They refused insisting that I print it out! (this after waiting for almost 30 minutes on line -- leaving my husband on one line while I finally found the WILL CALL line which was much shorter) BTW You should tell your customers to go straight to the WILL CALL line RATHER than the regular (usually much longer line. I asked the "supervisor" of the ticket office to call VIATOR to confirm payment and our entitlement of benefits but she refused to do that too ( rudely - I might add) Finally even though we were at an impass - they gave us our tickets and off we went. The lines for each exhibit were horrific but this was due to the record breaking crowds. The weather was rainy and it was the only "indoor" activity in the area. BUT the 40 minute movie narrated by TOM HANKS was terrific and well worth the extra ticket fee which was included in the VIATOR full ticket. We spend hours at the museum and due to the crowds didn't see everything. We were very grateful that because of the record breaking crowds the museum actually remained open an extra hour to attempt to accommodate everybody. I would definitely recommend this museum PROVIDED that better communication between VIATOR , the museum and the clients occurs with respect to how to gain admission. The rating is not for the quality of the museum as much as it is for the poor customer relations and crowd control
