we have been on numerous walking tours in New Orleans, but this was definitely one of my favorites. Steve was personable, funny, and kept me enetertained while educating me on the history of New Orleans, the cemeteries, and the beautiful mansions of The Garden District. Great tour!
Tour guide Sarah was great. The cemetery part of the tour was the most interesting to me because she really knew her stuff.
Steven was our tour guide and he was great! Our taxi driver took us in the wrong direction making us late to meet up with the tour. But Steve called us twice so that we could find and catch up with the tour and we did. He toured us through the cemetery on 400 Washington St. This was our second cemetery tour of the day and my husband and I learned even more history about the New Orleans and the residents old this cemetery.
Steve then took us around the Garden District to view the amazing houses there. Explaining the architecture and the history of the houses. Each one distinct from the next. Loved it!
Steve was a fantastic tour guide. His knowledge of New Orleans History and story telling was thoroughly entertaining!
2 hours flew by so fast. I would highly recommend this tour.
Interesting and entertaining tour - well worth the time. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and clearly understands New Orleans history and culture.
We had a great tour of the historic garden district and the cemetery also. Our guide Scott was very knowledgeable, personable and didn't rush us at all. I would recommend this tour with no hesitation, We were so thankful we had done this tour we learned alto about New Orleans we would have missed. Thank you!
Tours by Steven - Steven was our guide. He was fun and very entertaining - loved his tour. The tour was full of information both on the cemetery - very interesting - and the garden/mansion district as well. The only thing that would have improved this tour would have been if Peyton and Eli were at their mom and pop's home to give us a high five. Definitely take this tour - you'll be glad you did!
Fantastic experience with Steven! I would highly recommend this tour, and if I ever come back to NOLA I would definitely book with Steven again! He's a great guide, very knowledgeable, knows all the local people and stories AND their dogs, and very friendly and accommodating. This was definitely a highlight of my trip. Additionally, the tour location can be easily reached via street car from downtown. One tip- wear walking shoes, if not for the length of the tour, the sidewalks can be precarious.
My friend and I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was great!
Very enjoyable tour. Learned lots of local history and interesting facts. HIghly recommended.
Steven was a fantastic guide. He knows many of the locals - their stories, their dogs. Very impressive. I would highly recommend this tour to people of all ages. In our group we had a pre teen, a teen, adults of various ages and an 81 year old. All loved it.
This was our first tour with Tours by Steven. Our group was small and we had Steven as our guide. We started at the Lafayette Cemetery with Steven explaining the burial process and some history of the area. Steven was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. After the cemetery closed we moved on to the Garden District. We saw so many beautiful homes and learned many interesting facts about the occupants past and present. Highly recommend this tour and any other tour with this company!
Steven provided a good history of New Orleans in addition to a detailed description of the above ground burials during the cemetery portion of the tour. Cemetery portion of tour was about an hour, with an hour also spent on the garden district portion of tour. Garden district portion focused on architecture and who livesed in the homes. All exterior viewing of homes. 11 people in our group. A little less time in cemetery would have been preferable, in my opinion.
I booked Tours by Stephen, and it was wonderful. Stephen is knowledgeable and lots of fun. The tour was a perfect combination of history, architecture, and old fashioned New Orleans gossip. Two hours flew by.
I have been meaning to review this tour for months and I wanted to give it the full attention it deserves. Steven is a first rate tour guide and we absolutely loved the Garden District. The mansions and iron gates are exceptional. Steven truly makes the history come to life. There was a terrific combination of the historical and the modern, along with showing us illustrious homes of elite Garden District residents and giving us some of the secret anecdotes. We truly got the flavor of the place. The information about the cemetery was fascinating! What shows through in this tour is Steven's passion and love for New Orleans. My boyfriend and I were the only two people on the tour, so I feel we were given the grand treatment. We had some questions about New Orleans in general as the tour ended about what to do with our luggage after we checked out of our AirBNB. Steven made a point of making some phone calls for us and then called me later about it. I so appreciate this kind of caring treatment beyond the tour itself. Please, if you go to New Orleans, do this awesome tour!!!
Our guide was fantastic. He inspires you to care about history and proves that there is no place like NOLA through his stories about the city. Highly recommend!
The tour was awesome! I drove out all the way from Texas to check out New Orleans. I figured a tour would kill some time throughout the day, and I am so glad I went. First of all Steven is a pretty cool guy, funny and knows his stuff! He was really informative and kept the tour fun. My favorite part was seeing all the awesome mansions and the history behind them. I your looking for something cool to do for a couple hours check this out!
Great tour! Steven was very informative and made the tour very interesting. Highly recommend!
There were 8 of us and Steven was highly entertaining and fun to listen to. Every one of us really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it.
This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip! Our Guide Steven Tours by Steven was fun, personable and extremely knowledgeable of the cemetery and history of the many homes. He also worked in a bit of pop culture showing the filming locations for several movies and shows as well as celebrity homes. This tour was the favorite of both me and my wife as well as my parents.
